Introduction

In India, the National Service Scheme (NSS) is a youth-focused initiative that uses community service to help children grow in character and personality. The Government of India's Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports introduced it in 1969, and it is currently carried out by the ministry in association with state governments and other institutions.

NSS at Sankar Polytechnic College

National service scheme at SPC has been servicing the locality since 1986. The two aspects of NSS are:
1) Regular activities

Career guidance

Soft Skill development

Entrepreneurship development

Environmental care

Free Eye and medical camps

2) Special camping program

Under this program, a village is adopted by our NSS unit, and a special camp is conducted in the village every year. Some novel programs and activities are conducted for the upliftment of the village.
