Library Staff

Dr. B. Vijayalakshmi has served as the Librarian at Sankar Polytechnic College (Autonomous) since December 2015. A distinguished academic, she holds a Ph.D. (2020) in Library and Information Science and is a UGC NET Qualifier (2012 & 2017). Her contributions to the field were recognized with the prestigious 'SALIS - AutoLib-National Best Librarian Award 2023'. Under her leadership, the library has undergone significant modernization, including the implementation of automation with barcode technology, the establishment of the NDLI Club in June 2021, and the launch of the NPTEL Local Chapter in April 2023. She is also an active researcher, having published 8 Journal Papers (including 3 Scopus indexed) and over 50 Conference Papers, in addition to delivering numerous guest lectures.
