Two representatives of the faculty of the institution (of which one shall be from non-engineering departments) are to be nominated by the Governing Council.

One expert member from Industry is to be nominated by the Governing Council of the Institution.

One expert member from industry is to be nominated by the Institution of Engineers (India), Tamil Nadu Centre.

One expert in the field of technical education is to be nominated by the Chairman, Board of Technical Examinations.

One nominee of the Indian Society for Technical Education, Tamil Nadu Section..

One representative of the alumni of the institution is to be nominated by the Principal

One member of the State Board of Technical Education is to be nominated by the Board.

The Principal of the institution is the Chairman and Convener of the Academic Board and shall, on the advice of the State Board of Technical Education, initiate steps to form the Academic Board as prescribed. Non-official members of the Academic Board shall not hold office for more than two successive terms.
