Introduction

In 1958, Sankar Polytechnic College was established. As a result of the institution's outstanding contributions to the field of technical education, it was awarded autonomous status for all programs starting in 1994. The institution, which is operating under autonomy, maintains a current curriculum and prepares students for the latest advancements in engineering and technology.

In order to carry out the autonomous activities of the institution, a full-fledged Autonomous examination cell functions in the institution, with the principal as the chairman of the autonomous examination cell. This cell is administered by the Controller of Examinations, System Admin, System Assistant, and Exam Cell Assistant.

The Autonomous Examination Cell is responsible for framing the syllabus and carrying out the continuous learning and assessment process of Examinations. All the programs follow outcome-based education (OBE) in teaching, Learning Process and Assessment. Hence, this cell maintains the utmost quality and standards in all the processes with the utmost confidentiality.


Function of Autonomous Examination Cell

Frame the Rules and Regulations of the Autonomous system as per DoTE guidelines

Update and amend the Rules and Regulations of the Autonomous system according to DoTE guidelines.s

Frame the Curriculum and Syllabus for all the diploma programs. Conduct Academic Board meetings to obtain approval on academic matters.

Prepare a tentative Academic Calendar for the respective academic year. Monitor the regular academic activities of all the programs.

Conduct Internal Assessments through weekly tests, intensive coaching tests, and model examinations for theory courses and practical courses.

Conduct Autonomous theory and practical examinations as per DOTE norms. Monitor the regular academic activities of all the programs.

Heads of the Engineering Departments:

One representative of the faculty is to be nominated by the Principal of the Institution to hold office for a period of two years.

One representative is to be nominated for a period of two years by the Governing Council.

Two representatives of the Board of Technical Examinations are to be nominated by the Chairman of the Board of Technical Examinations for a period of two years.

The Principal of the institution is the Chairman and Convener of the Academic Board and shall, on the advice of the State Board of Technical Education, initiate steps to form the Academic Board as prescribed. Non-official members of the Academic Board shall not hold office for more than two successive terms.
